The community that learns together, bikes together. We offer hands-on bike repair classes during our slower season to keep the community together, informed, confident, and capable.
All our bike repair and maintenance classes are taught by the Bay City Cycles team in a hands-on, learn-as-you-go away. Informed by the Park Tool School, we aim to bring our community a mix of affordable, fun, accessible, and informative. Check our events calendar for upcoming classes and courses.

These classes employ a mix of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on learning. Attendees will get to listen, watch, and try their hand at the activities of each class on their own bicycles. Attendees are expected to bring their own bike, ideally in working order to ensure a clean and smooth learning process. Class sizes are kept small for a casual and customized experience.
Some class offerings are one-off experiences — often about two to three hours. We also offer courses — a series of several classes covering a variety of content, allowing time between classes to digest information and learn.
All of our classes reference information in the Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair, and this manual serves as our recommended textbook for all our longer courses. We keep this book in stock at all times and we’ll often reference it or other Park Tool resources.
If Bay City Cycles must cancel a class for any reason, we will offer a refund or a position in a future class at our discretion. We require a three student minimum to hold the class. Class size is limited to six.
If you wish to cancel your registration, the store will fully refund tuition for 10 days before the class. After that time, we are unable to refund any part of the tuition.
We are unable to adjust or prorate the tuition for students that are unable to attend all the sessions.
