The September Cycling Challenge is Back

Participate from anywhere.

Bike all September.

Join us for the September Cycling Challenge. For every 10 miles you cycle in September, you get a chance to win. Log your miles, share in the challenge, and bike.

Choose your own adventure: Strava, Ride Club, Google Maps, your cyclometer. Simply submit your miles weekly via the form below. Or, if you’re using the Trek Ride Club app, your miles are automatically submitted. Just make sure you signed up for the challenge on Ride Club and are tracking your miles with the app

Best yet, our weekly email prompts includes routes, tips, and ideas to get you motivated and riding!

We post a weekly Leader Board with first name and last initial so you can race your peers to the most miles.

Track your progress on the Leader board to compete with your peers, but we reward you for just participating no matter your rank. You’re entered for a chance to win for each 10 miles you track and submit. We draw on October 6th.

Our drawing winnings include:

  • 1st Place Drawing – $100 gift card for Bay City Cycles
  • 2nd Place Drawing – $50 gift card for Bay City Cycles
  • 3rd Place Drawing – $25 gift card for Bay City Cycles

Sign up below to get started! We’ll e-mail you weekly prompts every Saturday to check in with your mileage.

4th Annual Bike Scavenger Hunt

Join Bay City Cycles and the Vaughn Public Library for our 4th annual literary bike scavenger hunt!

This is a scavenger hunt that takes place all around the bike trails of Ashland. We will have 5,10, and 15 mile options for everyone. No sign up needed, just show up to the library with your bike, a helmet, and some water. We hope to see you there!

Closed 4th of July

We’ll be closed on Saturday, July 4th. Watch us in Ashland’s 4th of July Parade at 11am, where we’ll be joined by the Chequamegon Dirt Serpent Composite Team.

Remembering Tim Doyle

We want to take a minute to celebrate the life of a legend.

Tim Doyle bought Bay City Cycles with Carl Beck in 1987 and soon after became business partners with current owner Karl Faber. Tim was a friend. A mentor. A Monte. He was the mix of mischief, reflection, thought, and motivation that we all wish to see in the world. Bay City Cycles would not have been the same without Tim. Northland College would not have been the same. The Chequamegon Area and the Queeb community would not be the same. He touched our lives. Karl is proud to have called him a friend and fellow trouble maker.

Rest in peace, friend.

Summer hours are back!

False spring has sprung, and with it our community’s renewed vigor for cycling. We are returning to our usual summer hours.

Summer hours:

  • Tuesday 10am-6pm
  • Wednesday 10am – 6pm
  • Thursday 10am-6pm
  • Friday 10am-6pm
  • Saturday 9am-4pm
  • Closed Sunday & Monday

Now is the time to bring in those pre-spring tune-ups. We recommend a tune up every 50 riding hours or once per year — whichever comes first.

Not sure when you last got your bike serviced? Contact us.
