The man, the myth, the Monte.
We want to take a minute to celebrate the life of a legend.
Tim Doyle bought Bay City Cycles with Carl Beck in 1987 and soon after became business partners with current owner Karl Faber. Tim was a friend. A mentor. A Monte. He was the mix of mischief, reflection, thought, and motivation that we all wish to see in the world. Bay City Cycles would not have been the same without Tim. Northland College would not have been the same. The Chequamegon Area and the Queeb community would not be the same. He touched our lives. Karl is proud to have called him a friend and fellow trouble maker.
Rest in peace, friend.
Alex grew up in the bike shop and the cycling community. After several adventures into college, grad school, into prairies and across seas, she returned to the bike shop to keep her community rolling. She also leads a citizen science non-profit, the Superior Rivers Watershed Association. Alex leads a weekly casual group ride May-October and is the mind behind our Just Riding Along newsletter.

I recall Tim as a Friendly, super cool, and Knowledgeable bike master, way back in 1988 when I moved to the area and found that Bay City Bikes was the Place to be. Bay City Bikes was and is a head shop for bikers. Best Bike shop on the planet. Thanks, Tim, and Carl. You folks are the best! Nothing even close!
